Mission Statement
SNS believes that a quality preschool education should be available to all children in our community. It also values diversity of race, national origin, and socioeconomic status among its student body. The school believes that a diverse student body enriches the educational and social experience of each student, and better prepares its students to confront the educational and social challenges of elementary and secondary school.
SNS encourages parents who desire to participate in their children’s preschool education in cooperation with other parents and who agree with the educational philosophy of SNS to apply regardless of ability to pay full tuition rates. SNS will admit applicants in financial need and will subsidize tuition for such students consistent with the guidelines set forth in our Scholarship Policy.
The Phyllis Whitten Scholarship Fund was established to honor the previous Director and Bluebird teacher.
Scholarship Eligibility
Any current or prospective student whose family needs financial assistance in order to pay the full tuition for an SNS education may apply for scholarship funds.
The need for scholarship assistance may be temporary or ongoing. In assessing whether a student needs financial assistance, the Scholarship Committee will evaluate the following factors: (1) family income (2) temporary or permanent inability of a parent to produce income due to medical or other reasons: and (3) other circumstances that affect the ability of a family to make full tuition payment on schedule.
Any eligible student requesting scholarship funds is expected to contribute as much as the family’s budget reasonably allows.
